usb headsets
Is it possible to have PC speakers and a USB headset play two different things?
What I am trying to do is to have Ventrilo audio playback in my USB headset, and music / World Of Warcraft running through the PC speakers. I told myself, since it is a helmet USB, it can work. Any help is appreciated.
Interesting thought, but probably not going to work … The only thing I can think If you do can use the startup, the control panel, sounds and Audio Devices setttings would be to see whether there is a real headset jack on the front your particular CD / DVD drive. Some of the older ones had an option to connect a headset to listen to audio CD directly using the system, but I think they shot this option. Next option, using two programs at once, like an MP3 player (no WMPlayer) and play at the same time – but they will both try to lock the audio hardware to use, and you can only have a MAIN program underway at a time even if Windows is a multitasking OS. Just a thought, why not plug a portable MP3 player and use some cheap speakers and headphones?. Or perhaps headphone splitter of some sort?. Good luck.
